The BRIC provides care free of charge. We are a community of health professionals and volunteers, working collaboratively address the deep wounds of trauma, including wound care, pain management, social and spiritual care, mental wellbeing, somatic healing, physical function services and navigation to resources.

The BRIC is excited to announce that we have been awarded Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Tax Credits to help raise mission-critical funds. Often, businesses and individuals are motivated by their philanthropic spirit to make donations to their favorite charities.

The BRIC is able to offer its donors an extra incentive for their generosity. When a business or an individual with business income makes a charitable donation to The BRIC and requests Neighborhood Assistance Tax Credits, they will receive the benefits of a 50 percent tax credit that can be applied towards their standard state and federal deductions. By receiving Missouri State Tax Credits for their contribution, donors make a larger impact with their charitable gift to The BRIC!

About The BRIC

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) was established in 2020 in St. Louis, MO, by trauma surgeon Dr. LJ Punch to address the unmet needs of patients and families whose lives have been impacted by a bullet. While the issue of “gun violence” remains an entrenched source of suffering in the region, The BRIC’s revolutionary and innovative approach seeks to prevent tragedy through trauma-responsive care and healing. Since opening in 2020, the clinic has cared for over 900 patients and families.

Our Mission

The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged home from the emergency department after being shot. Through our community engagement efforts, we recognized a pattern of unmet need in which patients suffered greatly in the aftermath of their injury as they did not have established connections to healthcare. We are here to change that with responsive, trauma- informed, accessible, and culturally competent care. We are an organization of health professionals and volunteers working together to provide support to those who are recovering from trauma.
